Davos, 3 November 2026 – Swiss MedTech startup avaisor AG has secured CHF 488,000 in pre-seed investment. Investors include a syndicate of more than 15 leading spine surgeons from around the world, a Singapore family office and a Swiss angel investor. The funding will support further development and international scaling of avaisor’s technology.
Making surgical expertise accessible
Surgical training faces a fundamental challenge: operations can be documented and recorded in detail, yet the reasoning behind clinical decisions often remains with the individual surgeon. This includes why an experienced surgeon chooses a particular approach, which risks they weigh and which alternatives they rule out.
avaisor is developing a platform that systematically captures and structures this knowledge, making it accessible through interactive knowledge avatars. The aim is to enable surgeons to learn from internationally recognised specialists, regardless of their location.
“A surgical video shows what was done. The real learning is in why. avaisor makes that reasoning available to every surgeon, not only those in the room,” says Yabin Wu, CEO of avaisor AG.
International investors support the next phase of development
The participation of experienced spine surgeons underlines the relevance of the approach to clinical practice. They are supporting the next stage of development and the planned market launch.
“The most valuable practical learning in surgery happens in the hallway or over coffee between cases, when one surgeon asks another why. That is what I want my team and my students to have more often, and avaisor makes it possible,” says Prof. Lorin Benneker, Orthopädie Sonnenhof, Sonnenhofspital Bern, avaisor investor and one of the first surgeons on the platform.
Beyond surgical education, the technology is intended to offer MedTech companies new ways to communicate complex product and application knowledge efficiently and in a practical context.
The funding will be used to further develop the product, validate the platform with early users and lay the foundations for international scaling.
